Full design and game design for A Little SPOT: Spot the Emotion Game, an officially-licensed family game based on the bestselling A Little SPOT children's book series. The game is built around emotional intelligence made playful: one player reveals a picture card, for example, "jumping into water" and everyone else secretly plays a face-down emotion card guessing how that moment makes the player feel, and points go to correct matches. It's a simple, fast loop that quietly teaches kids that the same prompt can spark totally different feelings, social-emotional learning snuck inside a genuinely fun game. Designing it meant not just building the mechanics but playtesting with actual kids, and making games for young children is deceptively hard, this was the first time taking that on since POOP: The Game.
On the brand side, the work took an already bright, vibrant identity and elevated it into a cohesive game system carrying the series' signature ink-splat energy, expressive emotion characters, and bold color across the packaging, cards, and every component. The result keeps all the joy and wide appeal of the A Little SPOT brand while giving it the clarity and structure a game needs: readable across the table, inviting to pick up, and consistent from the packaging to the cards
